School Enterprise Challenge Program

The students of 8 IGCSE were given the task to come up with a business plan, which would later become a reality. We started off with many ideas from the multiple teams we had made. It took a little while to decide from the numerous proposals we had come up with, but we managed to choose some things that worked well together.

Our plan was to create a plant nursery where we would grow, care for and sell our produce. These plants could also be used for other things like soaps and natural beauty products. After we solidified our plans, we took a walk around the school to decide where the plants would be grown. My classmates and I had a lot of space to let our inner gardener run free with creativity. After discussing the best places for the flora, we began our quest for healthy land.

Our project was a patch of land in the Ashram School, where we softened up the soil and mixed in some enriching manure. A feast of minerals fit for any green leafy being. It was an arduous task, involving tools some of us had never used before. Yet we managed to prep some land that farmers would be proud of. It was a great experience for us and I bet there is more fun to come.

  5. Well, even though I became a part of IG at a little late, I did not miss the opportunity of being part of the School Enterprise Challenge. It was a new experience for me and I enjoyed being a part of it. Putting up the stalls and selling soaps and the aero-models was a great success and I look forward to some more manufacturing and selling and hope for an even better success.
The vegetables which we cultivated gave us a good yield.
